The International Remote Viewing Association (IRVA) was organized March 18, 1999, by selected scientists and practitioners meeting in Alamogordo, New Mexico in conjunction with the first professional conference on Remote Viewing in Ruiduso, New Mexico.

The concluded objective was to create an organization that would provide a mechanism for evaluating the discipline called “remote viewing”, encourage scientifically sound research, propose ethical standards and provide overview educational information to the remote viewing community and general public.

IRVA’s primary goal is to provide an unbiased approach relative to information, training, research and education regarding Remote Viewing.

IRVA Founders (1999)

In 2024, the organization celebrated its 25th anniversary. Over the past years, many well-known personalities in the RV community have served on the IRVA Board. The organization’s bylaws stipulated that the Board of Directors was to be composed of 9 individuals (until 2024). The organization provides various resources and services to its members and the public:
  • Aperture Magazine: A periodic publication featuring articles by IRVA members and experts in the field
  • CIA Stargate Archives: Access to the entire content of the CIA’s Star Gate Archives
  • Conference Videos: A curated collection of remote viewing videos from prior conferences
  • Research: The IRVA/iRiS Research Award (previously: Warcollier Prize), a financial award for the best research proposal in remote viewing
  • Educational Resources: an extensive bibliography of remote viewing-related materials
  • Community Engagement: Online forums, member-organized events, and discussion platforms for remote viewing enthusiasts
